Grapefruit apple

I have been a little slack of late with my green juicing and boy do I feel it. This week I have a juicy action packed detoxifying green juice, that’s packed with nutrients.

Green juice is always my ‘go to’ fix-me-up-er-er.
 
Let me break down the reasons why this little pocket rocket of a juice is so good for you.
 

Coriander/Cilantro – Has high metal cleansing properties.

 

Kale – Contains Sulforaphane which encourages the liver to produce enzymes that detoxify cancer causing chemicals. Kale is quite possibly the top of the food chain as it also offers Omega 3s, Vitamin K, and fiber. It ensure that you’re releasing waste and toxins from your body.

 

Spinach – Provides powerful antioxidant protection against free radicals.

 

Cos Lettuce – Packed with nutrients and antioxidants, this superfood has iron, Vitamin C, Folate, Potassium which helps regulate blood pressure, Vitamin B1, B2, Chromium and so much more.

 

Beet – Beets are extremely alkalizing, high in antioxidants, calcium, iron, magnesium, fiber and folate. They are a powerful blood builder and cleanser.

 

Carrot – Highest amount of beta-carotene which is the precursor for vitamin A. The cleansing properties that are effective in detoxing the liver. In Chinese medicine carrots are said to be good for spleen, stomach and kidneys.

 

Apple – When juiced, these sweet beauties work as a detoxifier to bind and eliminate toxic metals from the body.

 

Parsley – Strong detoxifiying properties and also a wonderful diuretic, which helps to prevent bloating and water retention by flushing out the kidneys.

 

Celery – A potent detoxifier, it can also make your overall skin look better.

 

Cabbage – Purifies the blood of toxins such as free radicals, excessive levels of uric acid which contributes to the visible signs of aging.  High in fiber, it clears the waste that congest in your organs.

 
Lemon – supports the liver and increases bile.
 
Recipe of the week

 

Green juice

Detox-a-Classic Green Juice

Ingredients 

 

Handful of Coriander/Cilantro

Handful of Parsley

6 Kale leaves
Handful of Spinach
Half a head of Cos/Romain Lettuce
1 beet
2 Carrots
1 Green Apple
6 Celery sticks
1/2 small cabbage or 1/4 if large

Instructions

1. Run all vegetables/fruits through juicer.
2. Put through a nutmilk bag or sieve to ensure you are squeezing all the juice out of the pulp.
3. Pour into a gorgeous glass or mason jar and enjoy with  Sexy Straight Glass Straw or even a bent straw.

Remember, you can always experiment with what works for you and you if you love more of something, then by all means add some more. Same thing applies if you don’t like something, leave it out.
